Overview

Phil Garvin (1928-2018) was a teenager when he first experienced presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to another soul. It was in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he joined the prayer meetings at the Mel Trotter mission before the group would then go out street preaching. Phil's heart delighted in seeing folks come into God's kingdom through faith and by hearing the Gospel, and that passion remained with him throughout his life. With a smile he would ask other believers if they would like to go "fishing" with him, referring to Christ's calling for us to be "fishers of men." In his book, Fishing with Phil, he shares steps for successfully presenting the Gospel to others in the power of the Holy Spirit. On Sunday afternoon, November 4, 2018 our Lord brought Phil home to Glory. Only God knows how many souls will join him in that eternal Kingdom because of his faithful witness.
