Overview

Keon Pendergast has always loved music. He sang in choirs in grade school, junior high, and college, as well as taking up several instruments. He currently leads the music portion of the worship service at Kilgore Bible Church and teaches the young marrieds Sunday school class. After growing up in northern California, at the age of 18, he went up to the upper peninsula of Michigan to be a part of an intense training program for young men called ALERT (www.alertacademy.com), where he was drilled with physical endurance, as well as challenged spiritually in his walk with Christ. After going through their training in construction, leadership, and auto mechanics, he left and worked for a while both as an auto mechanic and as a trim carpenter. Then, he joined the staff at ALERT in East Texas with their initial entry Basic Training phase. Keon has a passion for seeing young men be men of God, strong in their faith and in their love for the Word of God and for being the protectors that God has called them to be. He is passionate about knowing Christ and making Him known! A key verse has been Isaiah 57:15. For as we get a proper picture of who God is, it undoes us! Yet this same God seeks to dwell with those who humble themselves and live in the light of who God is in his splendor! (Bio from http://www.kilgorebiblechurch.org/our-staff--leadership.html)
