Overview

LCDR J. David Rogers, USNR, was commissioned as a Navy intelligence officer in 1984, following officer training with the Marine Corps in 1974-76. His formal education includes a bachelor's in geology and geophysics and masters and doctorate degrees in civil and geological engineering. He is the recipient of sixteen decorations and NAO wings. During his highly-celebrated military career, Rogers traveled the world solving engineering problems. He then taught engineering at the University of California-Berkeley before accepting an endowed chair in geological engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He teaches courses on creativity and problem solving for the U.S. Department of Defense and other corporate clients of the university.
