Who doesn't know the love story of Isaac and Rebekah? What we read a few chapters later, however, betrays a shift in character that is nearly beyond belief. In Genesis 27, we find Rebekah, with her son Jacob, conniving against Isaac. The result produces a family rift which spawned multi-generational waves of manipulation, mistrust, and overt hatred. Why did this happen? Scripture gives us a clue. The lessons of this story can save you from life-long grief as a mother or father, a son or a daughter, a son-in-law or a daughter-in-law.
