Description
In our relationship with God, obeying His Word is important. However, there is a deeper aspect of our walk, which is the “keeping” of His Word. Sheep chew on their cud as they rest under the protection of their shepherd. In a similar way, Christians are to keep, or “meditate” on what the Good Shepherd says. They are to treasure and think about what they hear from Him day and night. Gabriel Cleator delivers a powerful message: We are constantly meditating on something, so why not turn our attention from ourselves and place it on Jesus Christ, the living Word?

As believers live the Christian life, it is easy to get overwhelmed by all the dos and don’ts we are supposed to follow: Honor your parents; don’t complain; make disciples; love your family; etc. In our fast-paced world, how are we supposed to stay on top of it all?

Ever since the time Doug Small shared this simple message from Genesis 18 with our staff in Oak Brook, it has been a favorite, a kind of benchmark for beginning to begin to put in words the spirit of a personal prayer life. Praying is so much more than asking and acquiring answers.

Record Your Progress!
Congratulations on finishing the second week of daily meditation. By now the living power of God’s Word should be having a significant effect upon your life and the lives of those around you. Today is an excellent day to record what is happening.

We've all heard the command, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (I Thessalonians 5:18). While there is always something to be grateful for, is it really reasonable to expect someone to give thanks for everything?
