“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). When Lew Sterrett first heard these words preached, he was in Chicago as a delegate to the 50th National 4-H Congress. Down deep in his heart, he knew that the manhood he sought was more than titles and trophies. Later, he saw this authenticity exemplified by humble, hard-working men, such as his future father-in-law. As Lew testifies, their lives gave him direction in the hope of satisfying the yearnings he had felt since boyhood.
