Maybe, right now where there should be joy in your heart, there is pain. Maybe where there should be unreserved confidence in the kindness and sovereignty of the heavenly Father, there is fear and resentment instead. Perhaps it’s because once when you thought there should have been justice, there was . . . nothing—as if God stood by while you suffered. Naturally, we conclude that justice was not dealt and assume that vengeance is up to us. But could it be that justice has been dealt after all? How can Janny Moore say “If you can be a forgiver you will know God more than you’ve ever known Him before”?
