Love God With All Your Mind
If we are to love God with all our souls, and if the mind is a part of the soul, why did God specifically instruct us to love Him with all our mind? The answer is revealed in the vital importance of keeping our thoughts focused on the Lord at all times. Scripture tells us that God will keep him “. . . in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” (Isaiah 26:3).
No wonder David begins Psalm 1 with a challenge to delight in God’s Law and meditate on it day and night. Paul also urges believers to “pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17) and to “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom . . .” (Colossians 3:16).
