Description

Be a Surgeon, Not a Judge!

In this command, we are instructed not to judge but rather to do surgery — remove a splinter from another’s eye; however, the prerequisite is to first remove the beam from our own eye. This is so we will be able to see clearly to remove the splinter. (See Matthew 7:5.) Surgical procedures such as this should be motivated by a desire to bring healing to another, whereas the responsibility of a judge is to determine the guilt of another person and enforce the consequences of the law.
