Description
Surrender for Victory!
Conquering lust is one of the most serious matters a man will undertake. The wisest man who ever lived was defeated by lust. The world’s strongest man was also defeated by lust, as well as David, who was a “man after God’s own heart.” (See I Kings 11:1–4, Judges 16:1–4, and II Samuel 11:1–5.)
Paul’s description of the battle with sin, including lust, is painfully true to life: “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that I do” (Romans 7:15). Yet, standing out in Scripture like a victorious banner is this promise: “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14).
