Faith, Character, and Civil Government

Description

Behind the founding documents of America stood the founding fathers of America. Now as then, in many ways, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution carry only the weight and virtue of the men behind them. Originally it was men and women such George Washington, Robert Morris, Thomas Jefferson, Abigail Adams, Benjamin Rush and Stephen Hopkins who were willing to pledge their lives, their fortunes and their honor. Who will it be today? Now more than ever in the land of the free and the home of the brave, men of integrity are needed to bring to life the government our leaders framed. Proverbs 29:2, one of the verses they would quote most often, said simply this “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule the people mourn.”
